UK Live Poker Recap
British poker gave us plenty to follow over the past week, whether that meant staying close to home in Nottingham and London or keeping an eye on one of the country's breakout players across the Atlantic.

In just one week, Dusk Till Dawn produced a 455-entry Deepstack, the 888poker LIVE London festival finished with a near-£400,000 Main Event prize pool, and the Hippodrome devoted its weekend to women in poker before Sunday's £20,000 guaranteed Women's Classic.

While that was happening, Jamie Dwan continued his remarkable 2026 across the pond with another five-figure cash in Las Vegas.

Marius Conan Comes Back to Win 888poker LIVE London

The 888poker LIVE London Main Event ended with the trophy going across the Channel, although British players made Marius Conan fight through a decidedly local final table before he could take it home.

Conan topped 379 entries in the £1,250 Main Event at Grosvenor Victoria, turning that field into a £396,050 prize pool and comfortably clearing the advertised £250,000 guarantee. The Frenchman collected £91,170, while Britain's Nathan Cohen came closest to keeping the title at home, finishing runner-up for £60,550.

Cohen had considerably more work to do once heads-up play began, since Conan arrived with roughly a 10-to-1 chip advantage. Two doubles kept the match alive before Cohen's king-ten finally ran into ace-ten; both players connected with the flop, but Conan had already made Broadway and closed out the tournament.

There was, however, a British winner among the festival's major events. Scotland's Bryan Taylor beat Andrew Hulme heads-up in the £2,000 High Roller, collecting £42,410 after an 80-entry field, with John Duthie fourth for £13,000 and Chris Balmforth sixth for £7,110.

Taylor came into London already leading Grosvenor's National Poker League standings and added the title to a 2026 that had already included a GUKPT High Roller victory at the same venue.

Wen Xu Comes Through 455 Entries at Dusk Till Dawn

Just a few days earlier in Nottingham, Wen Xu had one of the largest domestic fields of the year to negotiate.

The £340 Deepstack at Dusk Till Dawn drew in 455 entries across October 9-11, generating £142,500 in prizes before Xu defeated Kully Sidhu heads-up for the £26,700 top prize. Sidhu took £16,700, while Poland's Robert Dziurdzia finished third for £11,700.

From there, the final standings were almost entirely English. Garinder Purewal finished fourth, followed by Rodney Hall, Andrew Lyons, Deniz Orhan, Millen Durham, Gary Nordigian and Matthew Bonham, which meant UK players occupied nine of the first 10 positions.

Hippodrome Ladies Weekend Ends With £20K Women's Classic

While London and Nottingham were doing what they do best, The Hippodrome took a different route over the weekend. It crafted three days around women in poker rather than a conventional multi-event festival.

WPF Ladies Weekend

Hosted by Kerryjane Craigie, the London stop of the WPF Ladies Weekend began on Friday with a women's £1/£3 cash-game stream. Saturday moved away from tournament poker altogether for a sold-out study bootcamp, where sessions included Marle Spragg and Jennifer Shahade, before Sunday's £300 Women's Classic brought everyone back to the tables.

The tournament carried a £20,000 guarantee and was also connected to several qualification routes. Craigie had run £35 live qualifiers through the Hippodrome Ladies Club and £33 online satellites, while the top three finishers in September's PokerStars WCOOP Women's World Championship had also been awarded £300 seats.

Even without final finishing order from Sunday's Women's Classic posted yet, it was a rather different type of poker weekend from the ones running elsewhere in London: the tournament was the final part of three days that mixed cash games and competition with coaching and community events, rather than simply building everything around one Main Event.

Jamie Dwan Adds $76,000 Poker Masters Cash

Across the Atlantic, Jamie Dwan came close to giving the week's British results another winner.

Jamie Dwan

The 26-year-old reached the final five of Poker Masters Event #4, a $10,500 No-Limit Hold'em tournament at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, where 80 entries created an $800,000 prize pool. Dwan returned for the final day third in chips and remained in contention until Nick Palma doubled through him, leaving the Brit short before his exit in fourth. The run was worth $76,000.

Vitalijs Zavorotnijs eventually took the title and $224,000, ahead of Clemen Deng and Palma, but another high-stakes final table adds to what has already become a very different year for Dwan.
