Battle of Malta remains one of the most recognisable mid-stakes live poker brands in Europe. For UK players, its appeal is obvious: a travel-friendly destination, a long-established festival identity, and a format that has consistently mixed large fields with accessible buy-ins and a holiday-style setting.

Add to the above - the vast fields of players from Italy delivers huge value for more experienced and patient players.

    Battle of Malta 2026 Facts

Battle of Malta is a long-running live poker festival held on the island of Malta.
It is an annual festival established in 2012, that has grown from a modest start into one of Europe’s better-known live brands, with live fields previously topping 4,500 entries.

The 2026 Summer Edition runs at Casino Malta from 27 May to 3 June 2026, and organisers say the overall festival guarantee has been increased to €1,000,000.

BoM usually clashes with another popular live event arranged just next doors, the Malta Poker Festival, but this year they have managed to sort out the dates and BoM is held almost a month after MPF.

There also two editions of BoM each year where the Autumn edition is the popular one with higher GTD and more players in general. On top of the live events, BoM has an online version that has been hosted by GGPoker and other off-shore brands such as ACRPoker in the past.

Why Battle of Malta matters for UK players

For a UK-facing audience, Battle of Malta is easier to care about than many far-flung international festivals because it is close enough to feel realistic.
Malta remains one of the most established poker travel destinations in Europe, and Battle of Malta has built a strong identity around that setting rather than relying purely on operator branding.

The official 2026 festival page says the event brings together international players, qualifiers, live-event regulars and recreational enthusiasts under one roof at Casino Malta.

    Battle of Malta 2026 Schedule

The official Battle of Malta site says the 2026 Summer Edition runs from 27 May to 3 June 2026 at Casino Malta. The official schedule article says the festival guarantee has doubled from €500,000 to €1,000,000, while the Main Event is a €700,000 GTD centrepiece.

How To Qualify for Battle of Malta 2026

There aren't that many online qualifiers for Battle of Malta offered by UK licensed sites but some operators from the iPoker network do offer network satellites to BoM 2026.

Sites such as Grosvenor Poker and bet365 might have a few weekly qualifiers still in their online schedule.

This actually only adds more value to travelling to Malta for this event, most of the qualifiers are from countries and communities known to be less experienced.
