  • New editions in Barcelona and Estonia join established stops in Malta and Slovakia.
  • Malta remains the core of the schedule, with two traditional festivals.
Battle of Malta 2027 Schedule
Battle of Malta is preparing for its biggest international expansion yet, announcing a five stop European poker tour for 2027. Next season, the coveted festival will visit four countries, introducing new editions in Barcelona and Estonia while returning to its traditional home in Malta and to Slovakia.

The announcement was made during the 2026 Battle of Malta Autumn Edition at Casino Malta, where thousands of players gathered for one of Europe's largest recreational poker festivals.

Now, with two new destinations joining the 2027 schedule, Battle of Malta is clearly positioning itself as a European poker tour rather than a one trick pony.

Battle of Malta 2027: Full Tour Schedule

During the Autumn Edition, the organisers confirmed five festival stops for next season, with four sets of dates already announced. The traditional Autumn Edition in Malta will return, although its exact dates remain to be confirmed.

Barcelona and Estonia are new additions to the calendar, while Slovakia returns following its first Battle of Malta festival in September 2026.

Barcelona Makes Its Battle of Malta Debut in January

The 2027 season begins a little differently next year, at Casino Barcelona from 20 to 24 January, bringing the Battle of Malta brand to Spain for the first time.

The inaugural Barcelona Edition is being organised through a partnership between Casino Malta and Casino Barcelona. Its Main Event will feature a €600 buy in, with multiple starting flights and live satellites providing different opportunities for players to enter.

The Barcelona stop also represents an opportunity for the festival to attract a wider audience from Spain, France and other European markets.

Malta Remains at the Heart of the Tour

Despite its expansion into other European markets, Malta remains the centre of the Battle of Malta calendar.

The flagship Spring Edition will take place from 21 May to 2 June 2027 at Casino Malta, offering almost two weeks of tournament action. The Autumn Edition will also return later in the year, preserving the two traditional Maltese festivals that helped establish the brand.

Maintaining these two Malta stops while expanding internationally allows the organisers to retain their established base while introducing the brand to new markets.

Slovakia Returns Following Successful 2026 Debut

Battle of Malta's international ambitions began taking shape in September 2026, when the series held its first festival outside Malta at Card Casino in Slovakia.

The inaugural Slovakia Edition attracted 1,510 entries and generated a prize pool exceeding €380,000, demonstrating demand for the festival beyond its traditional home.

The event will return from 14 to 21 June 2027, shortly after the conclusion of the Spring Edition in Malta.

Estonia Joins the Calendar for December 2027

The final confirmed stop of the 2027 season will take Battle of Malta to Estonia for the first time. Scheduled for 14 to 19 December, the Estonia Edition will be hosted at Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn.

The new destination gives the series a presence in the Baltic region, opening the door to players from Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and neighbouring markets.

Tallinn has developed into an established destination for international poker festivals, making it a logical addition to the expanding Battle of Malta calendar.

The December dates will also provide players with one final opportunity to compete under the Battle of Malta banner before the end of 2027.

From a Malta Festival to a European Poker Tour

Founded in 2012, Battle of Malta has grown from a standalone poker festival into one of the most recognisable tournament brands in European poker.

The 2026 Autumn Edition attracted 5,368 Main Event entries, generating a prize pool of more than €2.4 million. Together with the successful Slovakia debut, those figures give the tour a strong foundation for the series' international expansion.

For players, the new structure means more opportunities to participate without necessarily travelling to Malta. For the organisers, it's a broader international platform with events spread throughout the year.
