The Irish Open Is Going Somewhere New: Here’s What Awaits in Marrakech

For most of its history, saying “Irish Poker Open” was enough to tell you where the tournament was going to be played, until this year.

The tour began its first serious international expansion in 2026, and after opening that chapter in Sydney, it is heading somewhere rather different for stop number two. Marrakech hosts the Irish Open for the first time from November 10–15, bringing one of Europe’s oldest poker names to Casino de Marrakech for a six-day festival.

The trip comes with 36 tournaments, buy-ins stretching from approximately €140 to €3,000 and a €500,000 guaranteed Main Event that begins on the second day of the festival.

Marrakech Gets a Four-Flight Main Event

Players have four starting flights to find their way into Saturday.

The first begins at noon on November 11, the second follows 24 hours later, while Friday carries both Day 1C at 11 a.m. and a turbo at 7 p.m. Day 2 begins Saturday at 1 p.m., with the final table and eventual champion due to be decided on Sunday.

The 50,000-chip starting stack is the same across all four flights. Day 1A through Day 1C use 40-minute levels, giving the opening stages a conventional Main Event pace, while the final flight speeds things up for players arriving late or taking one more shot.

Players can use one re-entry during each flight, and there is nothing stopping someone from qualifying through more than one Day 1. If that happens, the smaller stack disappears and only the largest moves forward. Fifteen percent of the field will make the money.

There Are Plenty of Ways to Satellite In

The qualification schedule begins before anyone reaches Morocco. PokerStars, Paddy Power, Winamax and rooms on the iPoker network are listed as online qualification partners for the stop, with prizes ranging from Main Event entry to larger packages that can also include hotel accommodation.

The live schedule then takes over on November 10. Main Event satellites start at 1,500 MAD, with several more running at 2,800 MAD. There are standard, turbo and hyper-turbo versions, and the last opportunities come on November 13 before Day 1D gets underway.
