The 2026 WSOP Main Event field narrowed to 21 players on Day 7. Malcolm Trayner holds the chip lead with 63,200,000, while United Kingdom's Thomas Clack sits eighth. Day 8 plays down to nine players for the August finale.

The field at the 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event has narrowed significantly after another five intense levels of play on Day 7. The tournament advanced from 62 competitors down to the final 21 players.

Each remaining contender is now just one session away from securing a guaranteed payout of at least $1 million and booking their return ticket to Las Vegas this August for the highly anticipated Main Event finale.

Leading the final 21 players is Malcolm Trayner, who bagged the overall chip lead with an impressive stack of 63,200,000.

Trayner enters the next stage of play with a substantial advantage over his closest competitors. He already boasts a highly decorated poker resume, which includes titles as the 2024 WSOP Mystery Millions champion and the 2026 Aussie Millions winner.

Trayner holds a healthy lead over the rest of the top five stack sizes. Rami Hammoud sits in second place with 41,500,000 chips, closely followed by Lucas Jumalon with 40,800,000 chips.

Evagoras Evagorou holds fourth place with 38,200,000 chips, while Will Givens rounds out the top five leaders by bagging a stack of 31,700,000 chips.

United Kingdom poker contender Thomas Clack has successfully positioned himself among the elite chips counts at the end of Day 7.

Clack will advance to the next stage of the tournament in eighth place overall, carrying a stack of 27,500,000 chips into the upcoming session. His top ten position places him in a strong competitive bracket as the field edges closer to the final table line-up.

The remaining 21 players will return to action on Monday, July 13, at 11 a.m. local time to contest Day 8. The structure for the resumption of play features blinds starting at 300,000/600,000 alongside a 600,000 big blind ante.

The primary objective for the upcoming session is to trim the field down until just nine players remain. The final nine survivors will officially lock up a minimum prize of $1 million.

They will then earn a break before returning to Las Vegas on August 3 to play down to a champion. The ultimate winner will claim poker's most coveted title, the official gold bracelet, and a $10 million first-place prize.
