High Stakes and Record Breaks: The Onyx High Roller Series 2026 So Far
- Artur Vyborov wins the $10,000 PLO Opener after re-entering with 20 big blinds.
- Matthias Eibinger wins $1.25 million in the $50,000 NLH Grand Slam after a series of failed attempts.
- The series saw global participation, high stakes and incredible comebacks.
The Mediterranean breeze at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa has been carrying the scent of high-stakes drama all week as the Onyx High Roller Series 2026 gets into full swing.
From the strategic complexity of the Pot-Limit Omaha tables to the relentless pressure of the NLH Grand Slam, the series has already crowned two champions who took very different paths to the winner's circle. While one pro used a clinical re-entry to dominate a record field, another relied on a "never give up" attitude to turn a series of losses into a seven-figure triumph.
Event #9: $10,000 PLO Opener: Vyborov's Redemption
The four-card specialists officially took over the Onyx Club for Event #9, and the turnout was nothing short of historic. With 232 entries, the $10,000 PLO Opener shattered the attendance of the NLH Opener, generating a massive $2,180,800 prize pool.

The final table was a global affair, featuring nine different nationalities and the legendary Patrik Antonius providing expert commentary from the booth.
Artur Vyborov’s victory was a masterclass in persistence. After busting his first bullet, he re-entered with just 20 big blinds and picked his spots with surgical precision. During the heads-up battle against Aren Bezhanyan, who earlier stunned the table with a royal flush against Quan Zhou, Vyborov held a commanding 4:1 lead.
The final hand saw Vyborov’s double-suited queen-high holding run into Bezhanyan’s dominant ace-king-queen-deuce, but a rivered flush for Vyborov sealed the $450,000 win and tripled his career earnings in a single night
Event #3: $50,000 NLH Grand Slam: Eibinger’s Epic Comeback
If you want to know what professional resilience looks like, just ask Matthias Eibinger. Before entering the $50,000 NLH Grand Slam, the Austrian pro was having a week to forget, firing four unsuccessful bullets in the $100k Championship and two on the first day of the Grand Slam. Down but not out, he fired a third bullet at the close of registration, and that was all he needed to secure a $1,250,000 payday.

Eibinger’s run to the title featured a record-setting display of patience, where he admitted to folding more than 60 hands in a row. The momentum shifted on his 63rd hand when his pocket aces cracked a set of sixes by spiking a miracle ace on the turn.

From there, the "fighting experience" Eibinger spoke of took over. He navigated a final table that included Johan “YoH ViraL” Guilbert and survived a near-elimination against Sergio Fernandez by catching a miracle queen on the river. The win pushed Eibinger’s lifetime earnings past $27 million, further cementing his status at the top of the Austrian all-time money list.
