WPT Prime Cyprus 2026

Players arriving for the poker festivities at the Chamada Prestige Hotel & Spa received bittersweet news this week as the WPT Prime Cyprus Championship was officially postponed. While the branded $1,100 Championship event is on hold, the venue has confirmed that the broader poker festival will continue, albeit without the official WPT Prime branding for the main event.

The postponement stems from regional travel disruptions and the safety concerns of the World Poker Tour’s international crew. For players already on-site or with non-refundable travel plans, the Chamada Prestige has stepped in to fill the void.

Guidance for the Traveling Player

The World Poker Tour has urged all players to monitor their travel arrangements closely. With flight cancellations affecting various routes in the Eastern Mediterranean, the WPT advises staying in constant contact with airlines and following updates from official government travel sources.

The tour advised:

We encourage all players to stay informed so they can make the best decisions based on the most current information available.

While the Cyprus stop remains in limbo, the WPT has shifted its promotional focus toward the WPT Rolling Thunder Championship, which is still set to take place in Northern California starting March 29. No official date has been set for the rescheduled Cyprus leg, but organizers have promised updates as soon as regional conditions stabilize.
